Teaching is a passion for me. I enjoy teaching older students because their minds are alive with ideas and creativity of their own. It is fun to see students wrestle with ideas and Information. Of course, art, literature, and writing are my favorite subjects. It is a blessing to help students progress in these areas.

My family of six moved to Tennessee from Missouri fifteen years ago. We had already begun our homeschooling journey and quickly found a strong homeschool community here. Homeschooling has been hard work at times but very rewarding and worth it. I have been homeschooling for almost 18 years. Now we have two graduated adults and two high school teenagers. I am fortunate to have a husband that works hard and supports my children’s education.

In college I majored in Bible and English with a minor in Art. However, homeschooling and teaching has provided me with the most growth and the best education. I have been teaching Art classes for homeschoolers for ten years and IEW writing classes for 7 years. These classes have been at a tutorial, and other places. This will be my first year teaching at Scholeio. This year I am teaching Art Appreciation and English Composition and Literature for high school students on Mondays.
